Three brand new champions have been crowned as NASCAR wraps up it’s 2020 Cup Series, amidst complications from the COVID-19 Pandemic. Even with all of the disruption caused due to the virus, NASCAR completed its 36th and final race on Sunday, as planned. The end of the season welcomes its newest champions Sheldon Creed with his Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Title, Chase Elliot with his Bill France Cup and Austin Cindric with his Xfinity Series Championship; all first-time winners.
An on-time completion of the racing season was quite a challenge due to a nine-week pause of all events. In order to get all 91 of the events completed on time, an ever-adapting 2020 schedule was tedious juggling act with a total of 85 revisions. After the pandemic shutdown, little to no spectators were allowed at events, sponsors and partners could not attend and even families of the drivers were only allowed to travel with drivers for the finale. This year has been a tough, but incredible season for NASCAR and many are breathing a sigh of relief to be entering the off-season.
