These types of cars are seen as prestige models and can still be worth quite a bit on the black market. Although manufacturers security systems are advancing so are the thieves, and it seems that they are often one step ahead. Volkswagen Golfs always were a favourite to steal as they were very popular with boy racers and easy to disguise as a different one as they were so popular.
