Formula One Motor Sport Safety

Recently safety has come into question with regards to the motorsport industry. Only a few weeks ago we witnessed the terrible accident that Bianchi encounter on the Japanese Grand Prix track. He is still in intensive care in Yokkaichi hospital in Japan, after his 160 miles per hour crash in the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka almost two weeks ago. This is not the first or the last accident to happen in the F1 Grand Prix, and although a certain amount of accidents are bound to happen, could the number be reduced and the severity of them be avoided.

With Formula one, the cars reach such terrific speeds that an accident is bound to be quite bad. But as with the recent accident involving Bianchi above, there were things that could have been done to avoid it. Weather often plays an important role in the safety of these races and should be taken in to consideration. Whatever the answer, more needs to be done to try and eliminate as many of these awful accidents occurring again and again.
